What Carnivorous Collections is
Carnivorous Collections is a free tool that watches publicly listed stock at plant shops and alerts you to changes. It does not sell plants, handle payments or ship anything. When you buy, you buy from the shop, on the shop's terms.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13 to make an account, and old enough where you live to agree to these terms. Some features (fair prices, full comps, nursery data) are for signed-in accounts, and nursery accounts are by invitation.
No commissions
Carnivorous Collections takes no commission, affiliate fee or payment from shops, and no shop pays for placement. Links to shops carry a tag naming Carnivorous Collections as the referrer, so shops can see visits came from us.
Accuracy
Stock, prices, fair prices, sizes, care information and rarity are gathered automatically from shops' public listings, eBay's API and published sources. They can be late, wrong or incomplete. Fair prices and deals are estimates, not appraisals or offers. Always check the shop's own page before buying. Care information is general guidance, not a guarantee of results.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what you post. One account per person. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or other members.
The wanted board and member-to-member trades
Offers on the wanted board are between members. Carnivorous Collections is not a party to any trade, takes no fee, and is not responsible for plants, payments or shipping between members. Use payment methods with buyer protection, ask for photos of the actual plant, and follow the laws on shipping live plants, including state rules and the Endangered Species Act and CITES where they apply. Don't offer wild-collected or federally protected plants.
Acceptable use
No spam, harassment, scams, or attempts to break or overload the site. Don't scrape the site or use it to bother the shops we link to. Nursery accounts may use what they see for their own business, not to republish other data from the site.
Shops and trademarks
Shop names belong to their owners and are used only to identify them. Shops that want a correction, or would rather not be listed, can tell us or email anthony@carnivorouscollections.com , and we'll act on it promptly.
Liability
As far as the law allows, Carnivorous Collections is not liable for losses from using it, including missed plants, prices that changed, or anything bought from a shop or another member.
Changes and ending
The service is provided as is, may change or stop, and these terms may be updated. You can delete your account at any time from your settings.
